Adam P Schweigert
Reformed composer and oboist now working full-time in the non-profit technology sector.
At WFIU, I direct all of the radio station’s new media projects and am currently project managing the redesign of their main station website, wfiu.org. I like this job because I get to wear a great many hats and work with lots of amazing people.
Going a little further back, I was born in Akron, Ohio and did my undergraduate work at The Ohio State University, graduating with a triple major in music composition, music theory and oboe performance in June of 2003. I came to Indiana University that fall to work on a masters degree in music composition and computer music.
These days I don’t do all that much with music (other than listen to a lot of it), mostly because, a couple of years ago I decided the my true passion lay in a different field.
I decided to work in the non-profit technology sector and am now dedicating the majority of my time and energy to pursuing that.
It’s been a lot of fun so far, learning all about search engine optimization, viral marketing, social media, blogging, podcasting, and the like, and finding creative ways to put these often very profit-driven techniques to use for clients in the non-profit sector.
I also have a lot of related (and some less related) interests that I’ll be exploring over on my blog (once I get it started…soon, I promise), including: photography, design, typography, home improvement, running, backpacking, climbing, cooking, eating, environmental and social causes, network theory, social media, collective intelligence and mass collaboration, mobile technology and dog walking.
